the reviews aren't that great

Still, for £8, what if it does steer you into the occasional river.
Question Author
well hey, my TomTom does that too, lol!
you get a better class of river with a TomTom - it'll steer you into the Thames, a Snooper will probably just put you in the Piddle.
Is that a scam? 'cause I could do with a satnav, but thats sounds too good to be true!
just keeps saying service unavailable when I click on link
Question Author
it's the Orange website... but you'll need patience to get through the payment screens. lots of "refresh" and re-entering details.
Question Author
I know 4get, you have to refresh and re-enter details. it's frustrating but worth it when it goes through.
i got through the payment screens ok, just wondering if I want a hdd too?! Also wondering if its genuine or a pricing error?
Question Author
apparently they sent a customer (not me) an "8 items at £8 on 8th May" email, they checked and were told it was available for anyone.

but it's hard work getting through the payment screens :o/
Yo Sara, just popped in to say hello
That £8 SatNav sara3 might be an Afghanistan one and you will be redirected to the Taliban. I'd be wary !! lol
Question Author
hey Bobbi, nice to see you. love your pic :o) xx

redman, I'll be fine. I have contacts ;o)

looks like the Orange site is crumbling under pressure. not sure if my order will arrive now, so proceed with caution!
FRAUD ALERT!!!

All traders registering UK domain names are obliged, under Nominet rules, to keep their registration details publicly available. Only private individuals, who are not offering any goods or services from their websites, are permitted to have their details withheld from the 'WHOIS' service. Any trading website which is registered to a 'non trading individual' (so that they can hide their name and address) needs to be regarded with the deepest of suspicion:

What's wrong with this?:~

Or is it that Ladies have such great difficulty reading maps?!

(Ducks down behind parapet,to avoid things being thrown at him).LOL
Question Author
MrV!!!!!

I can read a map, but not whilst driving and definitely not in the dark!

Chris, sorry that was a bit technical! I assume the company are thought to be suspicious? I assumed the link to Orange (although they are a bunch of monkeys sometimes!) would suggest they are legitimate. time will tell :o/
Looking at the terms and conditions shows they are 20:20 Mobile (UK) Limited. The fact that they mention Orange and use the Orange logo does not mean they have a connexion at all.
NM,
I just rang Orange on their freephone (main) number, and the very nice girl told me that the link you posted IS a legitimate part of the Orange group.
Mind you she couldn't access the bargain pages either!
As TCL states, there's no link to Orange whatsoever.

Anyone can register a domain name such as orangebargains.co.uk, orangeextras.co.uk, buyfromorange.co.uk, etc. Orange could then seek to take legal action, on the grounds of 'passing off', but that doesn't stop anyone from registering the name, advertising non-existent goods and then quickly disappearing with the money.
Question Author
okay, I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope my credit card offers protection if it all goes horribly wrong.
I'm sorry, Mr V, but I refuse to believe that Orange would register any legitimate domain name as being held by a non-trading individual.
(NB: I'm certainly not suggesting that you're lying; only that the lady you spoke to doesn't know her @rse from her elbow!).

A 'WHOIS' search on a legitimate Orange website should return a result like this:
http://webwhois.nic.u....x=0&WHOIS+Submit.y=0
(Compare that to the one from my link above)
