i wasnt sure what section to slot this one into, so heres hoping someone might be able to help me please?

today i used my hair straighteners, switched them off after id finished (as i thought anyway), and slipped them into their heat resistant bag/case.

i usually unplug them at the wall, but i hadnt today as id not finsished tidying up around me.

after a while, i heard a brief hissing noise, but couldnt make out where it was coming from...

after a few minutes i picked up the case with the straighteners in it to unplug and put away, and noticed they felt really hot through the bag! even though there was no red light showing to say they were still on...

soooo, i can only assume the on button had accidentally been pressed when id put them in the bag, and the hissing noise had come from them!

i unplugged from the socket and left them for an hour before plugging back in to see if they still worked..

the red lights that indicate the straighteners are on and heating up just flashes on and off once when i press the button, but doesnt stay on as it should do when working ok....

tut .... are they kaputted? :o(

thanks for any help :o)

Let them go completely cold and they may come back on again. They've probably got a thermostatic cut out.

ok thanks count,
i will try them again later then,
theyre cold now though, this all happened about half 3 this afternoon.

they do have a 60 minute cut out, but this all happened in a shorter space of time, plus they were in a confined space in the bag with no air getting round them,
no wonder i thought they smelt a bit funny! :o/

tut, looks like i'll have to go out and buy some new ones tomorrow, i only bought these last april too, so theyre still relatively new .... :o(
