I have a DVD recorder and want to transfer my VHS recodings to DVD. I bought a multiscart socket and plugged VCR/Stelitte into the same DVD socket, but can get no picture from the VCR.
How should I connect all my hardware so i can record?

connect the video to the dvd recorder via a scart cable. from vcr's scart socket to dvd recorder's input scart.

Then on your dvd deck, select position AV or EXT to view the video through your dvd recorder.

If the dvd recorder has only 1 scart socket then you will need to use coax cable (RF out to tv aerial in) and tune the tv in to the dvd deck to be able to see what you are doing.

another tip: disable the vcr's on screen display if pss, so you don't get things like the video's tape counter or messages like "Play", "tracking " "stereo" etc  flashing up on your copies.

I did that, but using the multi-scart have both CR and satelite going to the DVD input.
I also have a scart from DVD to TV.
No problems viewing Sat - just VCR
If the VCR and DVDR both have two Scart sockets, try this: don't bother with the multiscart and daisy chain SAT-VCR-DVDR-TV.
