Printer trouble
4 Answers
I have two printers connected to my computer both of which print and scan
perfectly. However, I have connected my husband’s printer to my computer
by usb and although it scans perfectly and goes through the motions of printing,
it won’t actually print. A blank sheet each time. I wonder if this is a drive
or a port problem. I have taken out the programme and reinserted same.
Still doesn’t print and cartridge seems ok. Any help welcome. Thanks.

I am beginning to think the cartridge may be the trouble because although it is new, it is a compatible from Inkinablink which company has now gone bankrupt. I think maybe the inks weren’t any good and I was ripped off. I’m loathed to go and buy more inks because they may not work either.
Now Chuckie, I have tried what you recommend. However, being an older printer which used to be mine once upon a time, and it did work well then, it's not very
sophisticated, it only has four buttons and I have tried them all in rotation together. Incidentally, it is an HP X1180 which I purchased when the all-in-one printers first came out. I now swear by my HP black ink Laser Jet, the ink goes on forever.
Thanks both, if you can think of anything else ..............

You could try standing the print head part of the cartridge in 1/4" of hot water in a saucer (hot but not boiling) until the water cools and then dab the print head onto a moist paper tissue. This may unblock the print head if it has dried out at all and you will see if there is any ink flowing to the print head,
I'm assuming that you have two cartridges, one for black and the other for colour as I don't know this model.
