why does it take weeks to send emails through skype?

when you cant get in touch with someone through skype eg skype phone call, the alternative is to skype email them, which is only usually 50%effective.
I´ve got 3 emails a week old which havent been sent yet!!
any constructive advice

Is it possible that skype doesn't work like other ordinary e-mail programs and will only send e-mails when the called computer is switched on and working?
If it was switched on you would then be able to talk to them, I assume?
Have you tried the ordinary e-mail service?? Outlook or Outlook Express?

Just thinking about it, isn't skype a direct connection between two units? if so,it would have nowhere to park the e-mails until they were collected, whereas ordinary e-mail programs have a service computer in the middle where mail can be parked pending delivery/collection.

Hi Piggy, If you have Microsoft Windows then I'm sure you will also have Outlook Express or the later Outlook installed somewhere. They were used for e-mails before skype appeared (I think!).
If you use Windows, go to START, All Programs and then look for one of the above mentioned programs. Using these, your e-mail is sent immediately and is stored by a server until the recipient searches for any incoming mail.
See how you go.

thanx but no thanx, its impossible to understand. firstly its in spanish, and 2nd even with the spanish i know i still couldnt fathom out how i was supposed to save emails for skype

wak, my computer was bought in spain, and so any prompts are all in spanish plus all the ads.
outlook is all in spanish.

Piggy, Why don't you change the language of the computer to English or get some Spaniard to do it for you??
Go to Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Change Language.
