Most phones now have memory cards so it might have backed up on there..

Do you connect your phone to your computer? If you do, then you can download a free prog called RECUVA from the net. When you've installed RECUVA, connect the phone to the computer, run RECUVA and let it search the phone's memory. It will find deleted pics/files and you can recover . Let me know if you've tried it.

Ah I can see what's going on! On the link page, click on the lower 'download from filehippo.com' then on the filehippo page click on the top right where it says 'download latest version' and off you go.
I can see why you thought you'd to pay because of the way the page is presented to you, but it is free.
