I have just taken an interest in photography although I have loads of photos from old cameras which have to be developed! Out walking some beautiful scenery and unexpected incidents which need to be captured, would like a camera not too sophisitcated easy to use but produces good photos and compatible with Acer Computer what do you recommend.

Unfortunately, you've omitted a piece of important info - how much you want to spend!
To generalise, the cameras in the Panasonic Lumix, Canon Ixus and Nikon Coolpix ranges can be relied upon to give good to excellent results. I'd go for one in these ranges at your price-point.
I have an old-ish Lumix and that has been great - here are a couple of pics I took using it:

(nb. I used a technique called HDR)

Get them done ASAP - film deteriorates with time, more so after it's been exposed.
like your first picture ap
Aside from cost, the only thing to bear in mind is ... Lens quality is more important than megapixels.
My daughter tried out Nikon, Cannon and Sony in their DSLR ranges and finally settled on Sony A700 which I think is now discountinued purely from the value for money angle since they gave similar results for a fraction of the cost. However Sony have other cameras in the range and the pictures she's produced and huge, clear and very balanced.
Nice shot of the bridge AP.
Another vote for the Lumix, I bought 'Vicassa' one about 18 months ago, particularly because of the exceptional wide angle available from the zoom lens which equated to a 25mm lens in 35mm format. The majority of her shots are scenes or groups, it's ideal.
