How to cut a youtube video

I have managed to convert a youtube video to an mp3 but the song that i want starts about halfway through, how can i cut the video so that it starts from the start of the song and cut off all the bit before? thanks

You mean mp4 Soph? ... or flv? mp3 is just audio.
Have you tried Windows Movie Maker .. that is free and should be on your comp. Load the clip then edit.

Yeah but the thing is I want to get the song.. so I want it as an mp3 eventually

I expect Al is correct and you do mean MP4, but in case you do mean MP3 (i.e. just music) this will do it.

Yeah I have done that but you can;t download it as an mp3

Get the Freecorder toolbar for Firefox ... play your video and whatever comes through your speakers you can 'record' as an mp3.

Yes .. That looks ok .. can select the mp3 quality too. Important.
If you try this Soph .. use 192kbit minimum for the mp3.
