Do you mean the George Medal or the George Cross?
The Cross is the highest award for civilian bravery, and the medal is the second highest.

There is a database of George Cross recipients here:

http://www.gc-database.co.uk/

There is some info on the George Medal here:

Sorry, that's all I could find :{
I am looking for a complete record also as a family member recieved this award in WW II
I a, also searching for a list of all George Medal recipients during WW II
My father was awarded the medal but he never spoke about the war. I know he was on the H.M.S. Illustrious during the war and he also has the Burma Star.
Mom told me he threw out other medals and a bunch of boxing trophies he won during the war.
They are both gone now and I would love to learn about his service.
His name is Michael Chesterman if anyone can help I would be very greatful.
I can be contacted at my e-mail address - [email protected]
Thank you for your time.
