Acer Aspire 5735

I thought I had asked this question previously but I am unable to find it on A.B. so I can only assume that I must have done something wrong.
My laptop has been playing up so I decided to restore it to factory settings, I was told to Press and hold ALT FT,
Press Power button and press F10 as soon as the Acer symbol appears, then go to, completely restore to factory default.
I have tried numerous times but it doesn't work so I must be going wrong somewhere so any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you go into the start menu, then all programs>asussystem>asussystem user guide

this should tell you how to do it.

please ensure that you have created a back up disk (you can create this using acer backup manager) otherwise it may not work

apologies for using asus in last post, I mean acer!
