Auto update responses when typing your own

I don't know if this is technologically possible but anyway . . . when typing responses and long ones in particular, on a highly active thread, you often get cross posting so that as you're typing something, someone could be posting something that would answer your query and have posted it before you can psot yours, then you look a bit silly and it all gets confusing.

And especially on quiz threads where the first person right gets the ask the next question etc . . .

Is there a way that autoupdates it as you're typing a response so you can see what other people have posted before you click submit?

It's possible, but probably not with the software they run the site on at the moment, these are dynamically produced, but static pages.

It would also be distracting IMO, and to be honest only really of use in CB (and possibly news) where the threads move that quick.
