My wife and I are going to Mauritius in November on a 3 Centred All Inclusive holiday.

I would appreciate any advice on exchanging money, tipping etc.

In fact any useful information would be appreciated.

Regards,

I have been to Mauritius several times - always on business. It is a very straightforward place and I cant think of anything particular to warn or tell you about. Other than dont get involved with those selling jewellery on the beach as you will never get rid of them if you do buy something.
On line I found this article

I am going there again the week after next.
You'll enjoy it! I just drew money out of the HSBC machine in the nearest little town, but beware that they are few and far between. It is probably a good idea to take some money with you to pay for a taxi to get you to said machine. Taxis are cheap and if you want to see the island they are the best way. One Sunday a local driver took us wherever we wanted to go and sightsee, he politely refused official payment, saying he was off duty, so we gave him the equivalent of about £10 as a thank you and he was thrilled. This was about 10 years ago.

Hotel staff are very attentive and not well paid so tip decently at the end of your stay. It is not expensive to tip others and it is appreciated. It was cheaper to get a taxi to the airport than to pay for the transfer fees.
^^^^ Forgot to say that although hotel staff speak English, a lot of others don't so if you speak French that is great. Funnily enough, I seem to remember that English is one of the official languages.
Aren't you lucky Taff, I am green with envy. Can I come with you ?
I was there MANY years ago in January and it rained EVERY day. However, it was still beautiful. Enjoy yourself.
