Do you have any nice plans for the weekend? Anything nice cooking, or whetting your appetite?

We've invited his parents up on Sunday for a Lamb Dinner as it's MIL's birthday today and they babysat for us last night.

Tonight we're cooking Surf 'n' Turf with a Café de Paris butter, beef dripping chips (the proper stuff no less) and mushrooms.

Other than that I'm not venturing far this weekend. We have got a gift voucher for a meal at a nice local restaurant and we were thinking of going tonight but decided to save it for a warmer evening.

Wishing you all a great weekend :-)

So glad you asked as I was just going to put a thread up.
Tonight is scampi and chips.
Tomorrow is mini Scot’s fry, haggis neeps and tatties, followed by whisky chocolate orange mousse.
Coffees and shortbread and of course lots of drams.
Nothing planned Lcg,still got that cough but happily it’s subsiding and the bouts between are getting less, probably go out for a couple of hours with Mr B to meet friends in our local , I’ll put a casserole in the SC for coming in…..but I did have a wonderful afternoon with cuddles off my beautiful great granddaughter Evie ,I’m on cloud 9 right now

Cuddles with the little people are the best, Bobbi.

It's a nasty old lingering cough. I'm so pleased to be over it. I hope you are rid of it soon. It will be nice to go out to the local to see your friends, but only if you're up to it.

I’m feeling well in myself otherwise I wouldn’t have gone to see the little one and I didn’t feel the need to cough in that time , a brilliant happy few hours and what a happy little girl she is

Oh that's good. I found the coughing died down towards the end but then you would get a random spell of coughing that felt like it wouldn't stop. It was draining.

We've just made our Café de Paris butter and it's in the cling film and and in the fridge. I hope I feel hungrier later.
I’ve just had spag Bol and garlic bread, had a shower and I’m now in my PJs ( life on the edge here) :0))
I'm feeling like poop...drippy nose, aches and chills when the paracetamol wears off. Not terribly interested in food. Cumberland sausages in the slow cooker, but I only want toast. No booze in the house :(
Question Author
I might make a spag bol for the little one and freeze it down. I've got to do something with the rest of the anchovies I've just opened.

Suggestions on a postcard...

Perhaps a medicinal Grey Goose for the lady?
Yes, I think the manservant will be there with the GG and a few nibbles tonight :0))
Just tried some chicken soup .... Two spoonfuls and I felt full, might have to stick to the odd slice of toast for another 24 hours. Won't hurt to live off my fat for a bit longer. Able to tolerate fluids ok now. A weekend on the sofa... No more or I will go stir crazy.
Pasta, what do you put in the slow cooker with the sausages?
Well, I might take a certain poster to task over their scurrilous attacks on me today. Then again, I might not.
I'll see how I feel tomorrow. :-)
So sorry you’re not well Pasta, best to stay in and not spread it around.
Look after yourself
Rowan keep your fluids up and feel better soon
Sorry you’re feeling poop, pasta. Hope the weekend sees it gone.
Helen, is it the first of your Burns night meals? Sounds lovely anyhow. Some of our family are having an early Burns night tomorrow too, unfortunately we can’t join them.
We have a few plans tomorrow, nothing spectacular but things which we’re both looking forward to, including a nice home cooked meal tomorrow evening..and sharing a bottle of fizz!
I will be fine, at least I can stand up without wanting to fall over, and can make it to the kitchen for a cup of tea
It is Vagus, although we are already a diner down unfortunately due to illness
I’m available… ;)

That sounds just the ticket, Bobbi.

Rowan, take it easy. xx

Tilly, who's been unpleasant to you? I haven't been on for most of the day as I've been out and about.
…and I love haggis, etc.
