Father and son camping
2 Answers
Hi, my husband and son, who's nearly 9, would like to have a "bonding weekend" camping. I found somewhere that offered "survival weekends", which sounded great but the minimum age was 13. Does anyone know of anywhere else that run these? I know they could just grab a tent and go on their own but we'd really like to find somewhere that offers this.
thanks

Centerparcs do a 2 hour survival course for that age.
My husband took they boys away last summer (1 at a time) and did some wild camping and they really enjoyed it. The summer before, he just went to a campsite and I think they still got a lot out of that as they got to cook their own dinner and breakfast on the camp stove.
Hope you find what you are looking for - you will find at that age, they are easy pleased and just the chance to sleep in the tent and cook beans and toast and hot chocolate on the stove is a thrill!

Found this as well,

but doesn't give any age limit other than for the ladies course - might be worth an email.
