Places to visit in south east USA
5 Answers
We are planning on coming to the States in October and we would like to visit somewhere in the south east. I hope someone might be able to give us some suggestions as to where to go. We have already visited New Orleans in the past.

Memphis, Tenn. Atlanta, Ga. South Carolina, Washington,D.C. all with lots to see and do. If you are bringing children and have not visited Washington D.C. I would suggest that as most of the things to do and see there are free and there are a lot of things for the children. All of the Smithsonian museums such as the air museum and the natural history museum have things that most kids are interested in. Plus all of the monuments on the mall.

Hi there!
Did you enjoy New Orleans? If so, you would definitely enjoy visiting Savannah Georgia and Charleston South Carolina as well.
Could you please further define your interests? Are you interested in outdoor activities, destinations, dining, land locations or sea locations?
Personally, I despise Orlando and prefer to take people to enjoy the less travelled locations in the South East. Also, I would encourage you to consider the Blue Ridge Mountains, travelling North on I-85 from Atlanta, then heading to Walhall South Carolina and then straight up the mountain to Cashiers and Highlands North Caroline, moving into the Cherokee Indian reserve, then back down into Pigeon Forge and Knoxville Tennessee, coming back through Chattanooga and back into Atlanta.
I often take people to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs West Virginia, the Homestead in Hot Springs Virginia and Colonial Williamsburg near Norfolk Virginia.
If you could kindly expand on your interests and particularly budgets, I would be pleased to help guide you.
Part of my profession is in escorting high profile individuals and people with out of ordinary needs to destinations. Ive just returned from a 12 day trip to the Cloister at Sea Island Georgia, Amelia Island, and The Greenbrier. There are some amazing discounts available right now due to the global financial situation, particularly for the more high-end traveller.
