When I came along just after the war, we had a ready built playground alongside the house as the church wasnt rebuilt until 1955, therefore we kids could run wild in the wasteland, building camps, playing hide and seek etc., with no Health and Safety brigade or other worries. There wasnt a lot of entertainment in those early days, we bought a television in time for the Coronation, but before that we would go to one of our neighbours and crowd round their small set with the curtains drawn, which was the only way you could see the picture. The BBC would shut down in the early evening, unlike today with multiple channels and 24 hour broadcasting.
Anyway, enough of the blether, Im sure that you want to get stuck in with the links.
Once again, I shall follow the rules relating to the word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one or more of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when my selected words will be declared, and points awarded in the usual manner. My first set of words to be linked should appear below at 9.00am.
