This strike is music to the budget airlines ears. BA will collapse thanks to the union scum bags. If the BA staff can't see this then, sorry, they deserve to be out of work.

For most short trips, budget airlines are great.

For the long routes, it was always 50/50 between BA and Virgin. Now ... it's Virgin.

I'd be amazed if anyone books BA any more.

The trouble is zzxxee, there are conflicting reports about how many passengers will be carried ... either on BA's own planes. or with other carriers.

Shortly British Airways will cease to be British when it merges with Iberia the Spanish National Airline.

When the two Airlines combines, there will duplication in many areas and tens of thousands of jobs will go.

This is more easily achieved with a broken Union.

To date BA has done nothing to avert the strike, and seems happy to absorb the short term losses the strike will inevitably bring. because, in the long term, they will save more money by getting rid of staff more cheaply with a weakened Unite.

Went to Las Vegas end of Feb with BA terminal 5 is a joke!!!! We arrived Monday night our cases Wednesday morning BA staff could't care less now they have merged with Iberia it will be worse cos they really do not give a toss about customers. Been with Easy jet several times cannot fault them.

Have they merged brucie ? I think they are getting together on 25th March to approve the deal . So whatever your experience in Feb. it was nothing to do with the merger.

The merger is the primary reason jobs will go. The Unions believe that rather than avoiding a strike, that BA is deliberately provoking one, to weaken the Union for future job cuts and negotiations.
