Its my 50th next year and i want to do something and go somewhere really nice so i remember it.....i like hot countries....anyone got any suggestions...or better still what did you do? I'm struggling ha ha
TIA X
You ask what I did for my 50th birthday celebrations. That's brought back memories of slipping money into the waistband of a belly dancer while working my way through dish after dish of delicious North African food. Unfortunately it was only in a Moroccan restaurant in Norwich, so I don'y think that will help you very much ;-)
Would cost be a major issue and what time of year?. Everyone I know that has been to the Maldives raved about it but I think you need to enjoy doing nothing but beaching.
You should get a good deal for that especially if you start booking about now.We managed Cuba on that and loved it plus we flew from Scotland with a stopover in Ottowa -dont know what the craic is now but highly recommended !1
We went to Reykjavik for my 50th -loved it just a long weekend.
Off to Dusseldorf a week on Friday for weekend for OH's 50th -really looking forward to that as well.
We went to Nepal for 2 weeks for my husband's 50th birthday, a few days in Katmandu, then a journey down to the jungle area where we stayed in a Lodge, went on elephants looking for tigers and rhino, etc, then back to Katmandu, and a journey to see Everest by small plane, all very memorable.
We recently got married at the Elysium in Paphos, Cyprus, and it is the most stunning hotel I have ever stayed at. It will be high 20s in May/June and it should just about be in your budget if £1200 is between you.
I did a 6-day cruise round the Gulf Of Mexico a few years ago - that was nice.
The ship stopped at Playa Del Carmen (Yucatan, Mexico) Belize, and Cozumel - the time at sea was fun too of course.
Hi jamesnan..
I bet the jungle bit of Nepal was Chitwan :-) did your legs get scratched up by those fan-palms ?
I've been to Nepal too (twice), fell in love with the place and the people. Did you go to "no problem" Pokhara ?
Resham firiri :-)
Namaste.
