While I miss "'ole in't ro-ud" (a.k.a. Castle Square) I think that Sheffield city centre is much nicer than it used to be. (The improvements to the Peace Gardens are particularly impressive).
While Penistone definitely isn't a city, it has to be near to the top of my list of the most depressing places to visit. (Perhaps that's because it's always been raining when I've been there, but Penistone just seems to be one of those places which needs rain simply to exist!)

Leeds = beautiful city with so much more than most people know
Sheffield = not beautiful but full of great people, great pubs, great social life
Paris = sheethole, full of dog sheete and beggers
but the worst of them = Bradford = dive, nothing to offer anyone, scummy, dirty, talentless = the very worst that a city can offer

Bradford: "nothing to offer anyone".
What about the National Media Museum?
(I've travelled from Suffolk, on day trips, just to see the exhibitions there).
And why are people knocking Milton Keynes?
It used to be characterless but it's had a lot done to it, so that it's now much better than it was. (It's also a great place for people with young families: Loads of open spaces and traffic-free housing areas)
