I have read a few articles on the internet about it and they were saying that a railway bridge has been cracked. None of them say how bad though. I was wondering if anyone knew if the trains have been disrupted or anything? I'm going to Blackpool on Monday by train and i'm worried now lol.. I've been looking forward to this for ages, really don't want it to go wrong :(

The bridge in question services Blackpool South Station.

You'll probably be coming into Blackpool North.............
Check the date...
I get the train from preston to Balckpool south (cos i work in st annes) 5 days a week but something made me take the car to work this morning, thank gawd i did i would never have got home!
It did happen, apparently.
No, SB......There really was an earthquake here this morning.
SB, that was many people's first thought - if it had been, it would have been in very poor taste, but It Was Real....

LOL Eddie, I'm waiting for doc to post - I hope it didn't damage his bathroom improvements that he's just completed.
The Pleasure Beach opens tomorrow too, I had intended to definately drive in tomorrow, other wise I would have been standing all the way home on a train full of screaming brats.

Thanks guys :) It is Blackpool North were going to.. I feel better now lol x
Probably Doc blown up the electrics
lol. Is this where the old joke gets recycled?

.....One resident, Tracy Smith, a 15 year old mother of four said "It
was such a shock, little Chardonnay Leigh came running into my
bedroom crying and my hands were shaking so much I could hardly
skin up whilst I was watching Jeremy Kyle"...

and so on.
The Pleasure Beach stop is before the bridge, dot...........
A tsunami swamped the boating pond, apparently. It was only a 2.4M event, a tiny shake.
I live about 4 miles from the centre of the quake and didn't feel a thing, according to the news the worst thing that happened was a pub in Poulton had some glasses fall off shelves. If you are coming to Blackpool on Monday then you may have trouble on the prom, the tram tracks are being replaced and it is a bit of a mess at the moment you can only drive from south to north.
Yes I know but the train still has to go up past squires gate and the PB to the South station then come straight back.
It can come straight back from the Pleasure Beach..........there is only the one line.
lol i know jack I travel on it most days, what i am saying is that the pleasure beach is on the line the bridge is on and if the trains can't run cos the bridge is still dangerous then the PB will lose trade, not that i care i hate the place!
No it won't...........?!?
It can run to the PB which is the stop before South Station, stop, let folks off and then return to Preston.

I've never known anyone wait at South to catch the train *only* as far as PB.........they'd wait for an hour.....for a 5 minute walk. :o)
