also, forgot to mention, flight advice would be great too! when im searhing for flights, they all seem to be non-direct :S some were 10 hours long! surely this is ridiculous?
where are you flying from?

ideally from somewhere in the north east! but could travel to other airports if needs be, not too far though :)
We've been to Berlin 4 times now (2004/5/6 & 9 - see photos on the Weekend Breaks section of our website - www.sandjay.co.uk). We had a great time every time we went. The Jewish Memorial is very atmospheric, Brandenburg Gate is a must as is a wander along Unter den Linden. One time we went to the top of the Bundestag building but the queues go on for ever so it depends on how long you're there as to whether you can be bothered to wait. The zoo is worth a visit if you like animals and Potsdam is not far away on a train if you fancy something else to look at. The Dom (cathedral) is beautiful and when we were there you could climb to the top from where you can get great views. The tower in Alexander Platz is also a good place for aerial views. The Nikolai Viertel is a good place to wander around as well and it's a good idea to try and visit both the east and west sides of Berlin if possible. One place I would avoid is Check-point Charlie - a really touristy place and not my sort of thing at all.

Hope you have a lovely time.

Could you fly from Edinburgh (rather than coming down to London?). If so, German Wings and Ryan Air both fly direct to Berlin. Might be others as well.
Thanks for reminding me, Twirls!

GermanWings fly from Edinburgh, Manchester & Stansted to Schönefeld.
You're welcome - It's such a great place I'd encourage everyone to visit if possible!
