job interview help!
11 Answers
hi everyone! i just got a call saying i had an interview for check-in staff at the airport! i think it will be for Easy Jet, i would really love this job so if anyone has any tips. for example, if you missed a passenger missed their check in time for their flight, what tips would you give the staff member on how to deal with it?
or what do you think they might ask, how would you answer? i do have a good idea but i just want to double check with what others would say cause i want to cover everything before they ask me these questions!!! :D

It's easy dealing with things when everything is running smoothly so if you have good communication skills then you should do just fine.

but with answering? do you say something like 'im sorry but the time for you to check in has passed so you have missed your flight'. its quite blunt but i dont know any way you could sugar coat it lol. ive seen it happen to people before and they always explode on the person telling them, i was thinking maybe i can find a way to let them down gently but still to the point.

You would politely tell them that they have missed their flight and offer to rebook them on the next available one. You would keep your composure and not get into an arguement with said passenger! It`s good to let them say what they want to say and then you come in with your bit. If you try to talk over them it tends to degenerate into an arguement. You would offer the appropriate amount of sympathy (ok fake it) but remain firm. You could also say you look forward to the challenges of dealing with all sorts of situations that may arise and will enjoy being part of a team.
If someone has missed their flight then there is not much you or anyone else can do about it. Find out what Company Policy is regarding these matters as Passengers will have to be booked on to later flights and possibly found Hotel Accommodation as well.
Each situation is different, so a lot depends on your own communication skills in dealing with tricky situations.
Good luck, hope everything works out OK !!
