Hi ames, irrespective of your age, you must do the Grand Palace. The night market is also a must, you can get something to eat there, you can have a drink in one of the quieter bars or in one of many night spots surrounding the market. It's a totally amazing place Bangkok...been there twice with the wife. There are Bhudas of every kind, which seem to be an attraction for many people. I dont know how long your going for, where your staying or what age you are but there is something there for everyone and every age. You will never forget your Bangkok experience. Go on a tuk tuk and be firm with the guy..dont go to a shop with him unless you really want to visit a diamond shop. He gets commission or his petrol for the day for every customer he takes. However it is another experience which is Bangkok.
Jump on a water taxi aswell, or a long-tailed boat. (very fast) Like the Grand palace, Wat Pho is also a facinating temple to visit, It contains the reclining buddha (46 metres long x 15 metres high). Also visit Kahosan Road for all kind of 'fake' goods, everything from Rolex watches to Press ID cards.

at wat pho have your palm read outside- very funny experience, especially with the language barrier! but they tend to talk some sense :) go on a tuk tuk and avoid tourisy restaurants- watch where the locals eat at the markeys and follow siut as they have lovely food + drink for under 1 each a meal (that was 3 years ago)

Water taxi to the floating market is great fun.
