I don't know London at all. I want to visit the V&A and Imperial War Museums.
I will be travelling to London by train and staying 2 nights.

What hotel or area would be most convenient? I have tried asking on the Travelodge website and find it impossible to get this information.

The V & A and Imp War Museum are on different sides of the river but The County Hall Premier Inn is sort of half way between them really(right beside Westminster bridge). We've stayed there on a number of occasions and found it ideal. Not too long on the tube from Kings Cross, fairly easy to get to, and if you book at the right time you get get a reasonable rate. Just keep looking daily before you go as the rates change several times a day sometimes.

Fantastic! Thanks very much.
this one's handy for London Bridge, on the Northern line for the war museum

rooms from £19 (it says)
PS there are other hotels nearby on Southwark St and Southwark Bridge itself.
I'd stay at County Hall Premier too hc - great location for a stroll along the river bank in the evening too and a bite to eat or a spot of sightseeing.

Which station will you arrive at? Happy to help you with some directions etc.

Many thanks, all. I am planning ahead and going in May, but the earlier I book the cheaper it should be.

I will ask for more info nearer the time. Quite excited about using the underground.
