disneyland paris? any advice appreciated!

thinking of going early december,found flights for £90 for all 3 of us,me,hubby and 3 year old,so far a bargain,but,am i better booking the package on disney site with tickets and hotel? the santa fe hotel coming up cheapest,3 nights with tickets for £390? does this sound reasonable?
have no idea because never done anything like this kind of hol before!
is it really £25 for fish and chips like everyones telling the hubby and putting him off??! lol

The thing about Paris Disney is that it is well away from any other facilities. So it has site-based hotels and restaurants, which are super-convenient for the theme park. We had an excellent family room at the santa Fe some years ago.
Refreshments are disproportionately dear, but one way round this is to have a bed and buffet breakfast and - discreetly make sandwiches for handbag. ahem.
i think those stories hubbie has been told are broadly true - stuff that you would call bar snacks is very expensive, as is alcohol. There used to be a petrol station that did a roaring trade in booze, don't know if its still there.
if you do the maths your package is working out about £40 each a night (hopefully with breakfast) including theme park tickets, and being right on site with the santa fe, it should suit yor needs.
Make sure you have your route, and costs bt hotel and airport sorted out now is the time to check which Paris airport you are using.

Once you are in the Disney complex you are "trapped" so Disney can charge almost anything they like.

It can be expensive, even for a McDonalds.

My son and family went earlier this year, and he is usually prepared to pay over the top for anything, but he was so annoyed at the prices he left the complex and bought some alcohol and food and kept it in the hotel room.

i paid £1600 for 5 days for 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant on eurostar.

it seems reasonable to me. Foodwise, there are pricey places and some reasonable places. Buffets can be good value.

do they still take food and drink off you when you enter, i can remember my mam having an argument with the staff because she thought it was unreasonable that they were confiscating drinks for young children in a heat wave, the manager got involved and we still had the drinks taken off us but we were given food and drinks vouchers to use in the complex!

no, or at least they didnt last september. we would make rolls up at breakfast (everyone in hotel did) and take them in, along with cartons of juice etc for a picnic. Not once were they taken from us

it may pay for you to look at the dining packages, it can make it easier to prebook some of the character meals if you have got a dining package. It depends if you want to do any of that sort of thing.

Hiya Pinky.. we went last year.. redcrx's idea of making rolls from the breakfast buffet is a great idea....we did too....and you can get fruit, muffins etc, you'd be safe to go all inclusive.... the food in the hotels is great.. we ate in our hotel every night...but we hadn't gone all inclusive and wished we did!!...we were in Hotel New York...it is expensive... but bu@@er that its a fabulous experience..I'd go again tomorrow!! Hope you enjoy it!

We went two years ago at Chrsitmas time and it was very disappointing - not anywhere near as Christmassy as we were expecting (still love it though, just wanted to warn you).

thanks everyone! i looked at transfers from airport and it works out about an extra £200 in transfers! we were only thinknig of going near xmas because we thought it'd be snowy,xmassy,magical,etc so if its just going to be cold and miserable might wait till next year and save up and do it proper!

the train was so handy for us. we parked car at ashford. And the disneyland station is right outside park gates.

I would recommend using Eurostar as it goes right into the resort and a free bus takes you from the station to your Disney hotel in about 5 mins, saves all the hassle of airport transfers also to stay outside the complex you have to leave your hotel when they tell you [ if you do a package hol] far better to stay at the complex, the Santa Fey being the cheapest I have stayed there and the Cheyenne and there isnt much difference and the breakfast is thrown in with your deal.
The downside is the weather I have spent a cold and miserable day in the rain there and it was so disappointing.
If you go first take the train that runs around the perimeter and then decide what order you want to do things in.
If you go to Buffalo Bills Wild west show [ hopefully its still there ?] then your meal is included in the price. Hope you have a good time, but you might be better to wait until your little one is a bit older.

Eurostar is indeed brilliant - especially if you live in SE England. If you have to travel down the country to get to eurostar, it can add massively to the cost and hassle of a short holiday. eg I live a day's journey from the SE. You can drive it and it's cheaper, but then you've got parking costs, plus you're tired out at both ends of the holiday. Compare with the very cheap air tickets OP got for whole family, and it's a no-brainer.

Travelling via Eurostar totally depends on where in the UK you are
It would be pointless if Pinky is in NI for example, or Scotland - you get my drift. It would cost as much to get to London/Ashford/Ebbsfleet as it would to find a transfer from CDG

When we went we caught a bus from CDG airport to the hotel. It was very reasonable certainly nothing like £200! It was a proper bright red Disney bus too lol. Do they not do this anymore? You dont even have to buy tickets in advance could just get them on the bus.

Oh and forgot to add we went end Nov a few years back and it was all Christmassy and very magical in my opinion. We thought it was great and I am a huge fan of Florida Disneyworld.
