Oak Beamed Pubs/Accomodation

I am looking for somewhere in Devon/Dorset/Somerset to stay for 2 or 3 nights in a olde worlde type of pub. Low beams, log fire, rustic, and good beer with comfortable rooms. Any suggestions please? Cotswolds also would be good.

You could try the Tuckers Arms in Dalwood, just off the A35 between Axminster and Honiton. Traditional, thatched 13c Devon longhouse with beams a plenty. Very good food. Not stayed there but has good reviews for accommodation. Serves local real ales.

You could check out The Blue Ball (formerly The sandpiper) just outside Lynton. I haven`t stayed there but I`ve eaten there many times. It`s a very old place with big fireplaces and good food. The scenery around there is pretty spectacular too.
