cambodia laos border crossing

as any one crossed the border between cambodia and laos according to the lonely planet it is not legally posible if not is there a crossing between thailand and laos by the mekong river thanks for any help

I think you can do it via a boat trip but you can definatley get to Laos via Vietnam, but you have to apply for a visa either in Hanoi or HCMC, then their are loads of buses that will take you.

Vietnam its self is well worth a visit if you are in that part of the world
