URGENT HELP: Are there fake emails from Thomson Airways going about

I booked two flights yesterday and I had a booking confirmation by email and the money has been taken from my bank account, but this morning I received an email in my spam folder saying it was from Thomson to telephone [phone] to be asked some security questions to finalise my booking by 8pm this evening or my booking will be cancelled. I have booked flights with Thomson before and never been asked this before so I am wondering if this email is genuine. I would telephone Thomson to check but I am at work at the moment.
Can anyone help me with this.

Did Thomson not question you further about the email and get some details so that they can follow this up? If not, I`m amazed. If that happened in my company, the Asset Protection/IT security dept would have been all over you like a rash. Maybe you should write to them and try to find out why someone that is not part of Thomson has access to your booking reference.

The person I spoke too took the telephone number in the email but I have also emailed them about it attaching the email I was sent and asking how someone got my details so I will see what happens, I have checked my booking online and it has not been cancelled, they told me when I telephoned that it was fake but sometimes one department does not seem to know what another department is doing, but I have never had an email like this before when I have booked with Thomson and I have not heard of anyone else getting one, but I will put a posting on here when I get a reply from them about it, just hope it does not take them too long to reply.
