Carrying food is OK providing there is no liquid in it. eg sandwich/fruit for eating on plane is fine. Only drink bought in airport is allowed through.

How about crisps and snacks?
Fine. No problem at all.

Thank you
Unless you're going to Australia - you can't take any food into Oz, if the recent Customs programmes are still correct.

UK security won't let you take any drink past security, but you can buy in the other side in the departure lounge and take it on board with you.
Check with your flight provider to make sure
The flight provider (airline) has nothing whatsover as to what you can take onto an aircraft.
It's pretty easy to google this

Singapore Airlines were very generous bringing lots of fruit round but they warned us not to take any into New Zealand as we would get a NZ$250 fine.
