Do Certain Nationalities Tend To Go To Certain Countries/resorts?

As above really - the question about elba made me think, There are lots of "holiday" destinations that you hardly ever hear british people going to (or perhaps i mean my british friends) Corsica, Aruba, germany, sardinia, sicily, puerto rica are ones that come immediately to mind

Not really sure, I know Brits who've been to all those places you mention but maybe there are places that certain nationalities prefer.

I'd recommend Germany as a holiday destination. Lots to see, the people are really friendly and their beer is superb.

Brits tend to go everywhere but there are places that are populated by certain holidaymakers. Dubai - Russians, Mauritius - French, Caribbean - Americans, Singapore/Hong Kong/Bangkok - Aussies.

i suppose looking at it from the other way when i went to tenerife it seemed to be exclusively british or spanish

bednobs, lots of Belgians holiday in Tenerife. Lots and lots.

Lots of Dutch overwinter on the Costa del Sol

Lots of young German families in Majorca. If I could afford it I'd travel around to a different place every year.

Azerbaijan as a holiday destination is often advertised on TV in India and the Middle East.

Oh, and South Africans go to Mozambique (for the diving)

Canadians, particularly in the East, flock to Cuba.

it partly depends on what airlines fly where, who you're likely to meet there (if you go to Aruba or the Cozumel coast you may encounter a few American kids on spring break, which can be tiresome), what distances are involved, the languages spoken, and colonial ties etc. Bangkok isn't that close to Sydney - but there aren't many places closer, so it's a big destination for kids.

Germany is actually 7th for Brits in this list

Another strange one I discovered last summer - loads of Chinese in the Maldives. They`ve even got an airline specially for it - Mega Air.

Which makes me wonder - does any other nation take over their favourite resorts as much as Brits? British bars, British caffs serving all day breakfasts, even British style curry houses where the staff can only speak Punjab and English, British entertainment - drag artistes, tribute bands, karaoke, British newspapers.

Or is it just us?

bednobs, I've been to Germany three times in three years; two of them were river cruises. (The third one was a break in Trier, which we'd loved when we stopped there on the first cruise.)

I've been to Germany. Lovely place and spotlessly clean. I was 13 when I went and I've never dropped litter since :-)
