I'm not sure of rights, you probably need to check the T&Cs of Travel Republic who are only an agent. Have you tried contacting the hotel and booking directly with them (or is it a package)?
I suggest the tour operator has to pay any shortcoming...can you check with ABTA...?
Are they ABTA Bonded?
I would ask the Daily Telegraph’s travel guru, Gill Charlton for her take on the issue.

Personally I think you would have the right to cancel and receive a full refund – but not to be able to insist on the agreed price (due to the terms & conditions).

it was ridiculously cheap..i knew it must be a mistake so i even rang to check..thy said price was right..the price now showing is another £300 difference!yes abta bonded will call them tomorrow.just wanted to know while im waiting upon their decision tomorrow.will ring abta and see what they say!
There was something on the TV a few weeks ago. Someone booked a holiday but the final price was more than advertised. Something to do with initial price being a estimate not a quote.
