Anyone got Malarone tablets recently? Do you need a prescription? I can probably get some from work for me but I need them for someone else too.

As far as I recall ,its a prescription only medicine
yes, prescription only in the uk
The NHS will not cover the cost of Malarone, so be prepared to pay for a private prescription for them. Alternitavely pop along to your local travel clinic where they could supply you with some in exchange for some £££ !
The last time I had Malarone it was on a private prescription from my GP. I found Asda pharmacies the cheapest place to buy from.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I won`t get them from work and will have to cough-up too if I go. Looks like you can get them from Boots online and they authorise the prescription but they`re more expensive than Asda which also claim there is no visit to the doctor either. I`ll have to pay them a visit and find out more (bit strapped for time so I need to get my act together) Thanks again.
got some from a Tesco with a pharmacy the other day - had a "consultation", which involved filling out a form saying what meds we were on already, then were sold what we needed for about £2.90 a pill. No charge for the consultation, and no prescription.

You might find them cheaper elsewhere but end up paying £10+ for the prescription, so try to find out all the costs in advance.
