Back in December 2012, I posted the following thread.

http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/News/Question1194941.html

Apparently another horrific murder took place on a bus this morning, and once again in broad daylight.

It seems that the victim and the killer were known to each other. It's a terrible business.
2 incidents out of the million or so journeys taken each day - so yes its still safe!

Sorry Bazile, I didn't see your thread, when I posted mine.
It's awful isn't it, AOG. I briefly heard it on the radio this morning and I'm sure they said she'd been stabbed by a friend! :-/

Stuff like this does really worry me, but what can we do. You can't live your life in fear.
I wouldn't let my kids use public transport on their own. No flippin way!
its a VERY rare event, get things in prospective please
Is it safe to cross the road in broad daylight - far far more fatalities there than murder on a bus.

No comparison, they are accidents, these are deliberate and savage killings.

What?

Of course there is a comparison: canary just made it

What bearing does the deliberate/accidental element have on relative safety?

If the number of kids killed in rta's was only four times the number killed in knife attacks we would be much better off than we are now
"Det Supt Baker added: "I'm not able to say with any kind of certainty if the suspect was known to the offender."

They have arrested a 22 year old man.
It seems to be every bloody day that something tragic has happened.

What has happened to this country!!
Having just seen the News it sounds to me like it was personal!

Agree, but there are some who are perfectly willing to accept the situation, perhaps when it reaches their 'front door' they will begin to sit up and take notice?

It is increasingly becoming a mess.
Violent crime is on the decrease

You are allowing yourself to be distracted from the facts by your own distorted personal perspective

I would point out that a great many more of your generation were lost to violent attacks than today so you are hardly in a position to preach about things 'becoming a mess'
Is it safe to travel by bus in broad daylight?

No it's not.

I travel by bus every day, not that my company has moved to Kings Cross.

Every single day I'm murdered by a complete stranger, and only last week I was killed by someone whom I knew.

The really annoying thing is when I'm stabbed to death, because not only do the knife wounds rip holes in my shirt, but it's a devil to get the blood stains out of my suits.

I much prefer being strangled. At least that way I'm not spending a fortune at the dry cleaners.

This response is ridiculous, but only because the question posed is a little 'out there'.

Let's focus on the poor family of the victim - their lives have been shredded, and will never be the same again. I can't even imagine what they're going through and I hope no-one demeans AB by trying to score points on this.

Thank you for drawing this story to our attention AOG. I am sure like me you feel a sense of heartbreak for the family.
terrible for her and the family...
i hope they get the person who did this.
Here here em10.

Can you imagine it?

It's a bad as this story which AOG missed (i only saw it on Sky, a few newspapers, Channel 4 News and the BBC):

http://news.sky.com/story/1059858/woman-jailed-for-life-for-grandmother-murder

Can you imagine the horror of seeing someone decapitated?

Oh dear, I now see that the Daily Mail has updated it's web page on this story, and it now looks as if the suspect is black, now for the accusations of racism, and of only entering threads that show persons of a different skin colour than my own in a bad light.
"Agree, but there are some who are perfectly willing to accept the situation, perhaps when it reaches their 'front door' they will begin to sit up and take notice? "

I think what we need is for this country to have tougher punishment.
It should be an eye for an eye. Only then will people think twice before going out and committing these horrendous crimes!

It is a mess, AOG, and it will only get worse.
AOG

How did you manage to miss the story I linked to?

Did it not meet any specific criteria?
