Why Do We Tip Certain People, And Not Others?
9 Answers
Why do we tip waiters/waitresses, taxi drivers and hairstylists? After they're only doing their job! Why tip the waiter when it's the poor old chef stuck in a hot kitchen, slaving away who's done all thhe hard work?

In the four years I worked there I can't remember a case of anybody fiddling the tip tin.
English friends who live in California have an 18 year old daughter who works in a sports bar and restaurant, she has to wear 'cheer-leader' clothes and rollerboots, reckons she earns $100 a night in tips alone. But then That's the way of American culture I suppose, people know they are expected to tip.
