We're going to London next month travelling by train on Monday staying over, visiting a couple of visitor attractions on Tuesday and Wednesday and coming back Thursday.
The venues we're planning on visiting are on the train's 2 4 1 list, but does anyone know if our train ticket from Monday will apply to allow us the discount on Tue and Wed or is it for day of travel only? And when downloading t he 2 4 1 voucher, should i insert date of travel or date of visit.
When we did this we didn't book the date of visit just travel. If I rememebr rightly you just show your special train ticket at the venue admission, we certainly didn't pre-book the attraction date.
You can use the vouchers for the period between your outbound and return dates. It doesn`t have to be the day you travel. I have taken advantage of a couple of those 2for1 deals (Tower of London and British Music Experience at the O2). They`re good value.
If you have a single ticket to London for the Monday and another single ticket home on the Thursday then you need to show both tickets to get the offers on the in-between days - so don't give in your outward ticket when you arrive
AFAIK the downloaded voucher doesn't show the date of your visit - just the expiry date of the offer which may be months ahead. So normally it doesn't matter what date you enter.
Note there are a few offers that expire at the end of April and won't return until the autumn.
Thanks all, just to clarify the date of travel and station from which you're travelling are key questions asked when downloading the 2for1 voucher for the relevant attraction. The voucher has to be presented at the venue on the day along with a valid train ticket.
I'll do as you suggest and show both outward and return tickets.
Thanks dzug, i've read the t&cs now on the website and you are correct. Valid for any date between the dates of travel, just need to retain the single outward ticket at the barrier ( by hook or by crook)!
Whoopee. Its such a valuable discount and makes a considrable difference to the cost of the few days away.
