We're visiting family in Dublin in the summer and my son has asked if we can go up to Belfast to see the Titanic Exhibition, has anyone see this, how long should you allow to look around, the website says an hour and a half but I'd be interested in hearing from someone who as actually been.
We went to the one in Florida about 6 years ago and was sickened to find a name on the back of the ticket. At the end of the tour we were asked to check the name against a list .....to see if we survived or perished...
I think it depends on just how interested you are in the Titanic, but even with just a passing interest you could easily spend an hour and a half there.I went last year with my two grown up sons and the three of us are deeply interested in the Titanic and we spent over three hours there. That wasn't because it was crowded, which it was, but we found the whole experience fascinating. It covered everything from the ship being built right through to the tragic end.
Vulcan, my son is a massive boat/ship enthusiast, he's half way through a model kit of the Titanic. We went to Portsmouth Historical Dockyard last year and he was in his glory, we walked through those ships for hours.
Hi there I have been there 4 times now and the longest time spent is 4 hours shortest 1.5 hours, the smaller exhibits change. I love it although I was disappointed as there was not more on the furnishings .
Hi fgt, I'll allow half a day for it then I think, thanks. Do you know how long it'd take to drive from Belfast to Giants Causeway? I'd like to show it to the kids.
If I was you I'd cancel the Dublin trip and just come to Northern Ireland instead :-)
As for the above it depends if you go by the A2 coast road and enjoy the scenery en route or simply take the shortest route. If the latter, then about an hour and a quarter's drive, the former could be up to three hours if you do it justice and stop on the way.
Ichkeria, I'd happily forget about Dub but alas we have lots of family that are really overdue a visit from us. The drive is less than I thought so we should be able to fit it in.
We went to it when it was in the O2.
depends on how interested you are in it, and whether you just look at the exhibits or read all the info with them.
There was also the option of an audio guide if you wanted, Mr S went for the audio guide and said it was really good, I read all the info and really enjoyed it. we spent just over an hour and a half.
We also had names on our tickets, sadly Mr S and myself both died.
the ice probably isn't salty, it's more likely to be pure water that's come down as rain on the land, frozen and made its way to the sea, perhaps part of a glacier, then broken off and floated.
