Anyone Been To Goa? North, South Or Central?
Thinking of a trip to Goa and not sure which bit to go to. We are in our 50s so not interested in the nightlife and want lovely peaceful surroundings, but do like access to good restaurants and touristy places to visit.

More seriously, authorities are getting worried that there's too much drink, drugs and prostitution

Which doesn't answer your question, I'm afraid. I've considered going there myself but have been wondering if it's just another permanent rave party for kids. So I'll watch this thread with interest.

Don't mind hippies, it's drunken louts that I hate and loud thumping music all night etc, I'm sure you know what I mean. North sounds quieter? I prefer quiet surroundings but I do like a little bit of life outside the hotel,
jno- they have these zombie games in UK and my daughter is planning on doing the next one in Bristol, sounds brilliant!

I have a house in Ribandar Old Goa facing the Mandovi river that's a bit too quiet for most. Calangut is where the lager louts congregate but further down at Candolim is popular with the over 50s and plenty to do. Whatever you do do not go all inclusive, food & drink are cheap and eating at the same place for 2 weeks is boring when there are so many restaurants to try out. Do take a trip to the Spice Fields its nice.
