Thanks Mazie, I found their website but was so incensed when I spotted they had a 50% mark up on the retail price on at least one of the cheeses that I stubbornly refused to place an order with them on principle!
Principles can be such a pain in the butt at times!
Eccles we go here when we go up North and we have had orders delivered in the past. They are very good and they do have a selection of cheeses.... I'd give them a call.
Thanks Mazie, I'll give them a call once I've worked out how I'm going to make cock a leekie soup for 15 with just two leeks. Something has gone wrong with my veg order this week :-(
I can't serve cock a weakie there will be uproar and they'll demand compensation in whisky.........for the sake of a couple of leeks I'd rather preserve my stash of malts!
there is a JJ thread beneath mine here for Scottish cheese - she refers to Lanarkshire Blue in it, going for the wow factor. That is a nice cheese....if properly kept.
Best cheese I ever tasted came from the Isle of Arran, Scotland. Can't remember the name but it was served on a platter with other varieties all equally delicious.
Scottish cheese? Try Aldi. I buy their 'Glen Lochy specially selected Scottish Vintage Cheddar', 250 gms. Flavour level 6! (Not many cheddars are so intense). It's a white cheddar with loads of 'bite'.
Thanks Heathfield but I am actually after a selection for a cheese board.
I think I have found somewhere that has what I am after, unfortunately the road there was closed this morning due to a fire, fingers crossed I have better luck tomorrow!
