Saying Goodbye :(
26 Answers
Hello all, it's been a really awful week, My wife has put her back out & can't move, then yesterday we had to say goodbye to our dobie Clydee ( see avatar). It's never easy doing the right thing & my wife & dobie girl are as distraught as myself. :( :(
On the up side Clydee (rescue dobe) had a wonderful 11yrs. We rescued him at 18 months of age. So his life span 12 plus years is good for this particular breed. He's given us years of laughter, joy & many antics !!! His unconditional love & loyalty will never be forgotten. :) XXX

So sorry to hear your news, it's never easy as you say, but sadly has to be done. Thoughts are with you.

As I have quoted before in these situations - when you start to care for anyone or anything, there is pain at the end of it somewhere.
Part of the pact we make with our pets is doing or best for them, and sadly, that can mean letting them go becaause it is best for them, even if not for us. That last act of love is the hardest, but the most loving of all.
To love a pet and know they have to leave you, and you are going to make that happen - is the hardest aspect of having any animal in your life.
But you have to know - the pain of losing Clydee will ease, and eventually become woven into your life.
But the love you had for each other will never diminish, and that will help to ease that pain into the distance, while staying present and alive with you for ever.
The love will grow, the pain will lessen - it takes time, but it happens - always.
