My dad has booked me and my boyf a flight to france for my birthday but he has booked my boyfriend under the wrong name, my dad knows him as Mr Thompson, but his passport shows his dads surname. He changed his name via deed poll to thompson. Now on ryan airs website it says its going to cost me �45 to do a name change on the booking

my question is will they let him fly on his passport if we take all his deed poll papers and explain? thought id ask on here before i ring the 0900 number!

If he changed his name by deed poll why isn't he using that name on his passport? You may not have time now before your flight but couldn't he get a new passport showing his new name?

Oh, sorry, forgot to answer your question! I certainly wouldn't take his passport and deed poll papers and expect to get on the flight, this definately needs sorting before you fly!

He has just never got round to changing his passport yet!

hey gemma,

that recently happened to me - was booked under my married name and maiden name still showed on my passport. As it was too late to get a new passport (nevermind the unwanted expense) I had to take my Marriage Certificate along to Check-In. This still created something of a delay but better than getting a new passport.

Taking an official doc. like the one you mentioned should be fine. Call the 900 number though!

I cant call the number from my mobile its blocked and i cant use my work phone thats blocked aswell!

does any one know how much it is to get a new passport with the right name?

girl, find a way to call ryanair. when is your trip? if its soon, don't bother getting a new passport coz you won't get it in time. it will cost you about the same or more as it would to get a name change on the booking. but honestly, call the airline.

I havent got acess to any other phones! we dont go until november though! its gonna cost �45 to change the name with ryan air!

The cost of amending an adult passport is �42 and should take no longer than 3 weeks to process.

Check out this page on the passport office web site, and if you're not going 'till November GET IT CHANGED!  Then you don't need to contact Ryanair as the name on the booking will be the same one as on his passport!

Ryan air have a very strict policy so a new passport will save the hassle and save your holiday .
my passport is still in date for another 8 years it is in my maiden name so i have to book my holiday in my maiden name or change my passport to my marriage name.
