flying from liverpool to barcelona with only hand luggage and checking in online..do i still have to be there 2 hours before and do i go straight upstairs to security?thanks
Just go straight through security, make sure you have boarding cards. Don't know about Liverpool but it took us nearly 30 minutes to get through to departures at Stansted a couple of weeks ago.
Still gotta(supposedly) be there 2 hours before for all the security checks etc.
Went from there to Carcassonne recently in similar circumstances, still had to do the obligatory 2 hours, just in case.
You could just leave it to an hour and still be ok though I reckon.
ok will do..can always wait in the bar!! lol..will print b.cards out before we go..so you dont have them machines to go to if you have already checked in online?
Not as far as I know, not with Ryanair. You can print boarding cards off til up to 2 hours before your flight, if you're travelling with other people and want to sit together then you should probably check in as soon as you can, 7 days beforehand I think unless you've paid the extra to pick seats sooner than everyone else. Don't whatever you do leave the house without boarding cards, they'll charge you and arm and a leg to print off new ones.
The only machine we used at Stansted was to get through to security, at the gate we had to scan the barcode of the boarding card to enable us to get through.
Just used Ryanair for a Stanstead/Limoges return flight - had no problems at all - prebooked my seat and printed off boarding pass and took only hand luggage. Just one point - I understand that only the first 90 passengers are allowed to take their hand luggage into the cabin with them, the remainder go free of charge in the hold. In the unlikely event of either 90 priority boarding passengers being on the flight (or for example 40 priority boarders and 50 other passengers checking in before you) your hand luggage would go in the hold (FOC). On my flight I estimated approximately 40 passengers this happened to. Also you are allowed an additional bag of up to 5kg ( and of a reasonable size.)
no not going to salou soul.the idea of us not taking hold is so we dont waste time waiting round the carousel...but you are saying this may happen anyway?is this only possible by either being at the front of the queue at the gate?!
I've flown into BCN with Ryanair - don't fret at all about 'waiting around at the carousel' - the hold luggage comes through extremely quickly - a couple of minutes at most.
By the time I'd had a wee & a wash my luggage was already spinning round on the belts.
Yes but IMO it would be unlikely. Priority boarders are loaded first and on my flight there was probably about 35/40 - I was first in 'the other queue' so got on with my cabin bag next so did plus or minus the following 50 passenger in my queue. The remaining 40 (ish) had yellow tape put on their cabin bags which went in the hold. I think the plane seats about 130 passengers but am under correction on that. I don't think it costs much more than a couple of pounds to book priority boarding but as I already reserved the seat I wanted I didn't bother.
