We are taking our 22 month old to Tenerife at the end of the month for a week and this will be her first flight!
Any tips for the flight (4 hrs approx)?
For the actual holiday, did other peole take nappies with them or buy there? Thinking of luggage weight allowances etc!
Also, we are staying at a hotel, for during the stay, did you take toys, and if so how many and what kind?

Any tips very welcome!

Thank you x

Boo, I meant the parents ...... :)
lol, no you didn't :P

The Majority DO!
:}

The awful people are the ones who believe they have a divine right to inflict their Child and it's problems on others
Old farts moaning, does not bother me! providing the child is in the hold.
No, the awful people are those who look down their noses at children as if they were a nuisance and should be seen (maybe) but definitely not heard. How dare the parents of these children want to have a holiday experience with their offspring eh?

Good thinking ^^^ TWR!
22month old in Tenerife? She should have a great time on the beach, in the Clubs and a spot of shopping.

Why parents take young babies away to the sun, I shall never know.

The crying brats are bad enough, but not as irritating as the innate stupid smile that comes across the mother's face as she looks down upon her offspring.

Nauseating.

Lump 'em all together on one plane/Island/Hotel, let them annoy each other, Simples!!!!
How soon some forget they were children once.
I'd make sure the child wasn't tired as he/she maybe become disgruntled.
What an exciting adventure for a "little one".
I hope he/she enjoys every second of the flight and shares her/his excitement with all the passengers.
Enjoy your holiday :-)
This isn't fair on chasingcars but as the discussion has widened out - it's not about looking down our noses, I hate flying, I'm often screwed up in a ball in my seat. Crying babies just make it awful and there is always one mother or father, on every plane, that thinks they are the only person in the world to have procreated and their child is the golden child.

Usually more than one Prudie!
;-)
Prudie, it must be a nightmare for person's that do not like Flying, just think of it this way, there is more chance getting K----ED travelling to the Airport, when you think the miles the plane travels, & that's into a lot, it is the safest form of travel xx
the discussion has not "widened out"
The post has been hijacked by people who actually have forgotten that this is answerbank, not "here's my opinion on an unrelated matter" bank, and people have taken the opportunity to spout off about =how they feel without even bothering to try to reply to the question
bednobs....TRUE....but there again, this par for the course on AB

If it was a strict "regime" then some of the threads wouldn't reach 15 posts.
OK guys let's keep it civil and respectful to CC please.

Keep to the OP thanks

Distraction, keep the child busy, books, toys and interaction.
The disadvantage of the under 2-year-old is that you don't get a separate seat for them, so they tend to be lumped from one parent to another and don't get comfortable. Make sure you take a light little blanket to cover her in when she drops off - it can be chilly on the plane.
"What awful people, you're all assuming that the child will cry?"

Is the Pope a Catholic?

It's not the children's fault. They are being introduced to a totally unsuitable environment with many features that will frighten them or make them uncomfortable. Hence my suggestion to wait until she is seven.
