Any Advice On Rhodes Please

We are off to Rhodes in the next few weeks, staying at Gennardi on the south east part of the island. Has anyone any "must see", "do's" or "eat", equally is there anything that the guide books seem to miss that is worth a visit. Lastly are there any small cove like beaches on that side of the island.
