I'm putting this as a separate post as I think it's important for lone women especially to bear in mind......
I've had a long chat with RAC complaints and this is being taken further but......
The reason the breakdown company wasn't requested by the RAC until two hours and ten minutes after my first call was that they try to get one of their own vehicles to the breakdown first.......they had been unable to do that so at 7.15 they called the local garage......ten or fifteen minutes away from where I was.
That makes a lie of the number of times the RAC assured me that I was a priority......their recovery was on the way and would be with me in about ten minutes.....
And if I have the bad luck to ever have this happen again I'll call this local garage myself......☺
Annoying thing is, Donny.....the battery showed no signs of being low.....sharp starting, no struggling..... strong lights....
It's kept in the garage and if it's to be left for any length of time I use one of those trickle charging gadgets just to keep it tip top....just like me....☺
Hi, Patsy.....even if just putting it on AB and telling every passing stranger I can grab makes folk aware it'll be something......
On reflection, had I been told it was going to take so long, I'd have called the police because of where I was......
It was when I told the RAC that was what I was now doing that they called local recovery......x
Whist concealing your tip-topness from all concerned. Go for it these organisations should learn that we have all the time in the world to be a real pain in the ****.
Seriously I have had some above and beyond call of duty service over the years, perhaps I have been lucky. My daughter got lost and stopped to ask an aa man directions, he said it was very complicated to get back on route. Upon being asked if she was a member she replied"No but my Dad is"The guy laughed then told her to follow him and took her back to the right road.
Oh, Zacs...you are a cruel man......I'm hurt....... ;-)
I met some kind folk last night, Donny....a few numpties who beeped to tell me I shouldn't have stopped there of course..........
The first to stop and offer help was a middle aged lady......I liked her coat.... then a large jolly Scots man on a bike.....but the number of young lads who stopped cheered me no end......☺
