Airliner escorted to Stansted Airport by RAF fighter jet, passenger arrested for fraud, anonymous security threat' was made via a phone call, and the Daily Mail refuses to take comments??????????

/// Essex Police said the incident is 'not believed to be a hijack situation or terror matter'. ///

It is not believed that the arrested man had any involvement in the cause of the diversion.

Perhaps it's something to do with reporting restrictions?
I thought the plane being diverted was unrelated to this arrest?

Possibly because it was a flight from Pakistan might have had some bearing on it along with the 'anonymous security threat'
the RAF get bored unless they can be "scrambled" now and again!
Lots of maybes. He was arrested for fraud by false representation. Maybe he was flying on a false passport and maybe someone grassed him up.

Maybe.

/// Maybe he was flying on a false passport and maybe someone grassed him up. ///

Do you think that would be enough to scrabble RAF fighter jets and to divert the plane, which was met by several fire engines and a number of ambulances waiting on the ground at Stansted?
Well yes it could be AOG, if the authorities had some intelligence on the real identity for instance.

Clearly something was going on here and as I suspect it will be related to a matter of National seucurity I doubt we will ever know. Or need to know.
Without knowing the contents of the anonymous phone call that prompted the scramble and diversion it is hard to comment.
