When browsing the Daily Mail web page certain headline pictures only partly appear and then disappear leaving a blank space.

In today's edition it is the one headlined:

/// Angry Ryanair passenger leaves flight attendant in TEARS after brutal outburst that even turned his fellow passengers against
him ///

Then next one headlined /// Terror in London ///

I believe it is those pictures that contain video, can anyone please explain why this is and what I can do to correct this issue?

Each of those is not a picture, but a clip from the video which is shown on the actual article page. I'm guessing that this is a problem with your browser, or a setting in your browser.
Works fine in Chrome, and Firefox for me.
Also works in IE11. (I'm on W10 by the way).
Also shows the clips in Edge (but there are other problems with the page in Edge)

Thanks very much, but I am also using firefox and the problem has not always been there.
Maybe you've worn it out AOG?
Can't find these articles anywhere in my on line edition.
I clicked on the Ryanair one and it was fine.
Try simply closing Firefox and reopening it.

If that doesn't work, reset Firefox as follows:
Click the 'hamburger'. (Three lines, top right).
Click 'Add-ons'
Click 'Extensions'
Note down the names of any extensions you're using and wish to retain ('cos you're about to remove them!)
Click the hamburger again
Click the question mark (bottom line)
Click 'Troubleshooting information'
Click 'Refresh Firefox'
Return to 'Extensions', search for and install the extensions you want.
