Find Barmaid A Holiday!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and the OH have had a tough 6 months. And now its official and we are going to have a holiday (very excited).

Date of travel - late September, early October
Hotel requirements: Very upmarket and no kids (min 4*)
Weather requirements: Hot but not blistering
Location: Dont care. Want sun, a little beach but need stuff to see - neither of us can sit on a beach and do sod all
Activities: Both love wildlife, birds, sealife (snorkelling OK, not sure I can do SCUBA), architecture, flora and fauna. He particularly likes marine fish/things. Dont want anything too energetic (we are of a certain age)!
Food: Me, I'll eat anything; him, wont eat chillis or pasta (so I guess that rules out Italy)
Budget: Not stupid money, but we will pay a couple of grand each for the right holibobs


Me: I reckon Malta. Him: Gran Canaria. Safari has been ruled out.

Ideas please..........personal recommendations appreciated.

Hawaii is good. September/October ideal months for mild weather, cheaper Hotel rates and Airline ticket. By visiting other Hawaiian Islands all your interests are covered with perhaps the exception of architecture. Honolulu is great but a bit Americanised and touristy. Downsides: Quit a bit of air travel involved getting there and if you go you'll not want to leave. (well I didn't)

Islay, not a chance, we may end up getting married and hey, I want a white (ok, so cream or red) dress and a big party.

Barcelona - sounds great, but for a city break. We are probably looking at 7 to 10 days. But Sqad if the present Mr BM doesnt make the grade I'll meet you on the 33rd floor with silk blouse, cuban heeled stockings etc.

Its ok I know you are just trying to avoid ASBO sitting. My mother disowned me yesterday for the same reason.......

What's more frightening is if BM and OH goes to a recommended location and it turns out they don't like it .

Think of the grief that the recommender will have to suffer on here , not to mention the litigation .

One of the cruises starts in Barcelona, so you could do two or three nights in Sqad's hotel, then sail off to see Marseille, Nice, Florence, Pisa, Rome and Naples. Culture, sun, short haul ...
