Whats The Big Deal About Scotland Failing To Get To The World Cup?
19 Answers
They aint good enough. England and the other home nations are only doing well because of the collapse of Soviet Russia which allowed lots of smaller nations to enter. Add to that the fact that FIFA and UEFA want lots of these smaller nations in the competition, then qualifying becomes a lot easier than it used to be. Englands' qualification means they are just delaying the inevitable before flying home after losing all three group matches. If I was Southgate (I aint!) then I would resign today and let someone else get the flack next year.

Dave - our fans go to the matches with no expectations of actually winning. The football is just something to watch until the party starts.
Andrew brought my nephew up from Nottingham to watch the cup final that St Johnstone actually won. The boy may be English but he may play for Scotland one day - or Ireland.
