Tom , welcome to AB. I do to a point understand your confusion, you join a Q&A site and have bumped into a topic that like a couple of others has acquired it's own protective shell. You wren't to know this, how could you and yes some links were given but when you posted your 'facts' you seemed unaware they were right. All I can say is that for the future perhaps join in...

This post appeared quite some time ago. It discussed the general principle of the nature and format of the puzzle along with thoughts on providing the answers by some of those who regularly enter the competition. I hope you find it helpful:-

tomcoady, you seem to have joined Answerbank specifically to ask for the answer to this week's Where Was I? Then, having been told through the links to many posts about this puzzle that we don't give away the answers, you proceed to do just that. Many of us have been enjoying this puzzle for years, and the discussions about each week's offering add to the enjoyment - please do not spoil things for the rest of us by posting the answers on here.
Obviously, you didn't need help anyway. There are other places on the internet that provide the answers, if that is all you want.

As it was painfully easy, even if you didn't live in the county, I fail to see the reason for giving the solution, other than to try to try and demonstrate one's 'superiority'. I really don't know why people bother doing puzzles if they're not going to make an effort. If you do Word Brain there's a site with all the answers, what's the point?
I didnt provide the answer, it was contained in the facts I presented just as in the original puzzle. If you think the specific answers are contained in those facts, AND if you believe these are correct, then yes, I'm sorry if it has ruined the enjoyment of others who come here in the hope that they *won't* find the answer to any questions. In fact you should make it easier for idiots like me to understand by renaming this forum the NOTanswerbank, then everyone will understand that this isn't the right place to find actual answers.
If you think the answers are available on other sites you should provide links to these as I looked for them and couldn't find anything of the sort.
In the meantime I will sit back and savour the feeling of superiority having allegedly found the right answers!
