Sandy, I understand the EHIC will remain in force until the card expires, which in my case is May 2021.
TTT, I don't understand your post. What do you mean by "I'd be surprised"?
TTT:
"I need to visit France next year and my EHIC expires in May." - it expired in 31/1/2020 me old china.
I think you need to lay off the port. It can't have 'expired' yet as it's only 26 December. (Call me a pedant - I don't care)
Anyway, it's nice to see that EU citizens living over here will still be able to use the NHS. I think the French will also have a civilised view on how nations should co-operate.
When I used to travel in Europe for company we were given a card, any further afield it was health insurance policy. Thankfully never needed to use them. Took a States based girlfriend to hospital to have polipes removed service was unbelievable valet parking etc
mate the E111 means nowt in most of yerp, everytime me and my family have tried to use one, it meant nothing. The ony time it had an effect was in Ireland for £70 tetnus jab. Italy, Spain, France, luxembourg, forget it.
